Building a custom home with Steve Borel has been a wonderful experience. Steve Borel is a man of high standards and moral character who is responsible for executing every detail of my home and surrounding himself with excellent personnel and subcontractors. His expertise, advise and his unlimited time and effort to the planning and construction of my home, plus his personal interest in satisfying all of my requests were invaluable. He was responsible for insuring that the entire building process was both exciting and a wonderful experience. Not only meeting the time frames but going the extra mile to exceed what all is expected of a builder. I am so grateful that I was fortunate enough to have found a builder as knowledgeable, as responsible, as caring and genuinely interested in building a beautiful home that more than met my high standards and fulfilled my dream.

The first of many decisions to be made when building a home is who will build the home. Borel Builders have built numerous attractive homes in the area so Steve was the first and only builder contacted. From beginning to end Steve was willing to take the time to answer all questions. No matter when I called him, I found Steve to be responsive; even if it was after working hours or on a Sunday.

In the beginning stages of construction my girlfriend's husband visited the site to see the construction. When he came back he said "Well, one thing I can tell you is that they are using good quality materials".

The original building plan called for an asphalt shingled roof. Once construction was started it was changed to a metal roof. This change was met with "sure we can do that". There were several requests to customize and personalize the home and once again each request was met with "sure we can do that" - for example:
1. The kitchen was to be equipped with a double basin double drainboard stainless steel sink meaning that the kitchen cabinets had to be specially fitted to accommodate the size of the sink.
2. The building plan included a "built-in-the-wall" glass display case for inherited family dished and heirlooms.
3. My great grandfather made two wooden "pin-up" lamps which needed to be rewired. The lamps were direct wired to a switch giving me a daily reminder of a great grandfather who I grew up knowing and loved dearly.
4. A two basin vat/sink was installed in the basement. I use this on a daily basis giving me a convenient access to the water supply for my dog.
5. My mother being over 80 years old was wanting to assure that she could remain in the home as long as possible. To accomplish this an elevator was installed to go from the garage/basement to first floor and a step-in bathtub/shower was installed in the master bedroom. These items are a convenience for my mother and used on a daily basis. When you hire Borel Builders, you don't just get a house; you get a home.
